Uel Rheem


Uel is a founding partner of Rheem Bell & Freeman LLP. His practice focuses on transactional law, including commercial real estate and corporate matters. Uel has over 30 years of experience in transactional work in New York City, throughout which he has expanded his client base and strengthened his standing in the legal community.

Azat Nugumanov


Azat is a former director at Morgan Stanley Private Banking. Prior to Morgan Stanley, he worked as a Vice President at BNY Mellon, Moscow office, where he was responsible for business development initiatives. Azat also co-founded the Aneta McCoy Advisory firm advising top-tier, public companies in Russia on governance matters necessary to work with western banks and partners. Azat obtained a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

Yuri Trofimov

Founding Partner (Non-Executive)

Yuri is a former Vice President at VTB. He was in charge of the division of business development functions, managing accounts of key corporate clients in their retail business, including MoD, Severstal, Alrosa, MIA and USC, the sale of banking products to clients, and developing new sales channels. Yuri obtained a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

Anastasia Klimenko

Business Development Director

Anastasia is an attorney practicing corporate law, international law, merger and acquisition law, and litigation. She has earned her master’s degree from Duke University School of Law, and her bachelor’s degree in Civil Law from Moscow State Academy of Law. She is admitted to the New York Bar.

Roman Titov

Regional Director

Roman was a Vice-Minister of Economy for the Volgograd Oblast. He has more than 10 years of experience within the IT, biotech, pharmaceutical, chemical, and agricultural industries. His experience includes consulting with large Russian companies such as Russian Rail Roads, Sberbank, Tatneft. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics.

Kaloyan Ikonomov

Regional Director in Bulgaria

Kaloyan earned his Bachelor Degree from the University of Kent, Canterbury, the UK and holds an MBA from the University of Chicago, Booth School of Business. A resident of Bulgaria/EU and the USA, Kaloyan has a very diverse entrepreneur career in many business fields such as alternative energy; production and distribution of cosmetics, salt, walnuts; consulting as well as several large scale real estate developments in Eastern Europe. Kaloyan has in his biography partnerships and JVs with companies such as GTC (Globe Trade Center) – a very large real estate developer in Eastern Europe, owned by Lone Star and previously Kardan Holding for the development of one of the largest shopping centers in Eastern Europe; XEMC – the second largest producer of wind generators in China for the development of a 1 GW wind mill park in E Bulgaria.


Charlene Chai

Ms. Chai worked in the fixed income and corporate finance arena for over 25 years and has been responsible for the structuring and managing of billion-dollar transactions at Deutsche Bank and Lehman Brothers. She has been directly involved in financial start-ups as a founder and continues to mentor and advise businesses. Ms. Chai has a strong reputation for innovative financial structuring and skillful negotiation. Ms. Chai is a graduate of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Mikhail Yudin

Mr. Yudin currently serves as a Managing partner at Beta Capital.  Previously, Mr. Yudin was the Chief Operating Officer at Deutsche Bank, Russia where he was responsible for the bank’s corporate governance, strategy and market positioning.  Prior to Deutsche Bank, he worked at United Financial Group (UFG) where he played an invaluable and pivotal role in its development and growth.  Mr. Yudin brings to RBM over 30 years’ of experience and knowledge from his work in both the Investment banking and private equity spaces.

Sergey Chernysh

Sergey Chernysh has a vast experience of running the operations for various companies across several industries for the past 20 years. Known as the “turnaround specialist” he has improved efficiencies, cost control and profitability of every business he has been involved with. He prides himself on being able to lead the company from point A to point Z the most efficient and the least expensive way.

John J. Shon

John J. Shon is an associate professor of accounting at the Gabelli School of Business. He received his PhD in accounting with an emphasis on corporate finance and microeconomics from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. In his doctoral research, he examined how the earnings surprises of high-technology companies, such as biotech firms, affect their disclosure practices due to expected litigation costs under SEC Rule 10b-5.

Professor Shon's research interests include the behavior of sell-side analysts and their resultant earnings forecasts and stock recommendations; CEO insider trading behavior and earnings management; firms' R&D expenditure patterns; and option-trading strategies around earnings announcements.

Professor Shon has taught in the United States, Europe and Asia at a range of levels: undergraduate, MBA, executive MBA and international executive MBA. He has won multiple teaching awards.

Prior to academia, Professor Shon worked in KPMG's Financial Services assurance practice, as well as KPMG's risk management advisory practice. He has also recently consulted for hedge funds, biotech startup companies and distance-learning companies.
